About the authors

Doris Knecht writes in «Ja, nein, vielleicht» with wit and insight about life as a woman, about friendship, and about the sense and nonsense of romantic love. For the first time in many years, she feels free again: the children have moved out, and a sense of calm has settled in between city life and country life. Until she bumps into Friedrich at the supermarket, a man from her past. The encounter raises a question she had long since stopped wanting to grapple with: is she ready to share her good life once again? A modern, unbitter and worldly-wise novel that questions the primacy of romantic love.

Pius Strassmann’s novel «Fantast!» depicts an imaginative boy in the 1970s, sheltered from world events and living a little slice of happiness with his loving, headstrong grandmother. He observes the world with curiosity, asks big questions and answers them in his own imaginative way. Pius Strassmann recounts this childlike view of the world poetically, profoundly and mischievously – with original characters and a language that invites the reader to linger.
