Portrait of Marcha

From the sea to the lake. From the hotel industry to shipping. - Marcha Bosshart now lives out her role as a host in the sales team at Zugersee Schifffahrt.

Marcha Bosshart looks out of her office window across Lake Zug to the Rigi. A view that never fails to fascinate her, even on the lake. "For me as a Dutchwoman, this combination of water and mountains is still a wow," she says. The 38-year-old grew up near the North Sea, between the harbour and the sea. Today she plans trips on Lake Zug - and the water has stayed with her.

She has been working in the sales team at Zugersee Schifffahrt for two years. When a company thanks her after a company dinner and immediately books the next event, it's one of her favourite moments. "Then I know it was good. The guests had confidence and enjoyed themselves."

Planning down to the last detail
After studying hotel management in the Netherlands, Marcha's path led her via Paris to the Zurich hotel industry. Today, she brings twelve years of hotel experience to the boat trip: "I love being a hostess and putting together a dream evening with the customers on the extra trips." It is important to her that the guest feels that everything is well organised. "The guest is king. For me, there is no 'no', I always look for solutions."

Together with the team, she plans special and extra trips - from private and corporate events to new formats such as the star tour with the Zug Astrological Society or Dancing Queens, an afternoon of dancing just for ladies. "I have lots of ideas," she says with a laugh. "My colleagues bring their experience to the table and know what works on Lake Zug."

Sunset and gastronomy
Her favourite cruises take place in the evening: Sunset BBQ, sunset à la carte, the golden light on the water, the atmosphere. "A trip on Lake Zug always feels like a holiday to me." That's why she shows visitors from Holland exactly that first: the lake with its mountain backdrop. "The catering on our boats is clearly different from other lakes."

In her private life, Marcha enjoys being outdoors with her husband and three children (7, 11 and 13), on hikes or in the campervan. The direction is clear, the rest remains open. - In everyday working life, however, every detail has to be right. So that every journey feels easy for the guests - just like a holiday.
