Cult hits, a great atmosphere and a lakeside backdrop: Zugersee Schifffahrt invites you to a party dedicated entirely to women. On Saturday afternoon, 25 July 2026, DJ Elaine will transform the boat into a floating disco with the biggest hits from the 70s, 80s and beyond – for dancing, singing along and simply enjoying yourself.

The idea for the new event stemmed from a simple wish: “We’ve heard from lots of women that they’d like an event with music and fun amongst women – but not late at night like in a club,” says Marcha Bosshart from Zugersee Schifffahrt. Instead, Dancing Queens focuses on a relaxed party atmosphere in the afternoon. “Women enjoy spending time amongst themselves, dancing together, singing along, laughing and celebrating the moment. True to the motto ‘Girls just want to have fun’ – ideally with a Prosecco or Aperol Spritz in hand.”

ABBA, Aperol and the view
DJ Elaine will be providing the perfect soundtrack. “ABBA’s definitely on the set list,” she reveals. Her musical focus is on cult hits from the 70s and 80s, complemented by disco-funk and, depending on the mood, some newer tracks too. After all, the atmosphere on the boat is something special: “I expect people to be in good spirits, to strike up conversations with one another, have a drink, dance now and then, and let their gaze wander across the lake. This creates all sorts of different moments, which I can respond to with the music.”

Celebrating the moment and the music
How does Marcha Bosshart envisage the atmosphere on the cruise? “All the women are simply having a good time, not having to think about anything else, and dancing on the open deck whilst gazing out at the sparkling lake.” And DJ Elaine has a favourite moment too: “When people pour onto the dance floor, celebrate the music and the energy comes back – that’s the best thing for me as a DJ.”

The “Dancing Queens” promise exactly that: a summer afternoon full of light-hearted fun, with rousing music and a backdrop that can only be found on Lake Zug.
