Catering professional with charm and passion
Marko L. is in his second season as chef de service on the Gastronautic team. With humour and perfection, he makes every trip an experience – conjuring up not only drinks, but also good cheer.
Entertainer. Improvisational talent. Good mood maker. Host with an eye for detail. "Yes, I'm a perfectionist – but that's how I feel comfortable," laughs Marko. "When setting the table, for example, everything has to be in line, the table has to create a mood. The first impression has to be a wow moment for the guests."
Multi-talented with an eye for the essentials
The 31-year-old not only has an eye for detail, but also always has a smile on his face. As chef de service on the Zugersee ships, he makes sure that everything runs smoothly: he welcomes guests, coordinates reservations, takes orders, serves and helps with tidying up. At the same time, he makes sure that everything runs smoothly in the background. "I divide the team according to strengths – together we can do it. Mutual support is crucial."
The trained restaurant specialist is often also the team leader on event trips. Marko particularly loves summer evenings with music on the lake. He sometimes sets up a bar on the open deck – with little space and a lot of improvisational talent – and enjoys mixing cocktails for the guests. "I'm happy when everyone is served on time and satisfied, when every detail is just right."
Good humour and team spirit
The Gastronautic crew is under a lot of time pressure. How does Marko keep track of everything? "You have to be focused. I try to bring good humour to the table. When we laugh a lot, we have more fun – and the guests feel that too." And perhaps the secret also lies in the workplace itself: water has a calming effect. "I feel freer, more relaxed – for me, the lake means a holiday atmosphere."
Charming, authentic
The Zug native chats, entertains – and always remains authentic. His recipe for success? "Entertain, have fun." Marko is a likeable restaurant professional with an eye for detail, an entertainer with charm and authenticity – and a host who immediately wins the hearts of his guests. And even though the season is now over, he is looking forward to the next one with anticipation: "I'm looking forward to the coming summer, to lots of events and also to seeing many familiar faces on board again."
